Boston Green Action joins with Greater Boston Physicians for Social Responsibility in calling for the passage of An Act to Protect Massachusetts Public Health from PFAS (H.4870/S.3034) immediately. According to GBPSR’s latest outreach memo, “PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances are forever chemicals that don’t break down in our bodies or in the environment. They are known to cause cancer, thyroid diseases, pregnancy complications, kidney disease, elevated cholesterol levels, and immunodeficiences.”
Public water systems in 99 cities and towns across the state exceed the legal limits for PFAS. Without protections in place, we are continuing to allow toxic substances to jeopardize the public health.
Passage of this legislation is urgent.
Take Action! Here’s how.
